User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2) Gecko/20100115 Firefox/3.6 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) Build Identifier: If IMAP server does not support user defined keywords, tags are stored locally in the .msf file. For detailed explanation see http://kb.mozillazine.org/Tags If one creates a new profile (e.g. on a different computer), the tags are not seen on the new profile. If I create a Thunderbird profile on a new computer and dump the old computer, all tags are lost. Reproducible: Always Expected Results: We need a means to pass the tags from the old profile to the new profile.
Daniel isn't that a duplicate of one of your other tag bugs ?
Ludovic, I hope not. this bug is about helping the user to migrate tag data stored locally in the .msf file to a new profile. bug 536946 is about warning a user about the fact that his tags are stored locally and not on the IMAP server. bug 533337 is about a sever side fallback in case IMAP server does not support keywords. bug 528034 is about ordering (priority of) tags. If bug 533337 should get fixed, this bug and bug 536946 are obsoleted.
Summary: Need migration support for tags stored locally → [tagging] Need migration support for tags stored locally

I didn't know that TB does support moving a profile. That's great, how can I move a profile? Are you saying that it is enough just to copy the profile folder as suggested in http://kb.mozillazine.org/Moving_your_profile_folder for Firefox?
