It should be opened in existing window at the same message. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: It should be opened in existing window at the same message. Actual Results: I have to find the message window which already opened
I feel like this is a dup of something, but I can't find a bug devoted to it... confirming in the meantime, as this would be a useful feature to have.

Now try to open one message in your inbox! ---> New message window opened. Then back to the inbox! (don't close the opened message reading window). Reopen the message! ---> It will appears in NEW WINDOW READING MESSAGE! So, There is now two same message reading window! (window duplicated) It should show the existing opened message window! Not open in a new window!
The only thing that I know is bug #511362 that is related to open in tab folder (but I think that the underlying problem is the same). I can't fin any dupe. Change title to extend behavior.

There's a pref for that, whether you want messages open in a new window, new tab or the existing window. Did you play with that pref and are asking for something completely different ?
Probably Andi S. refers to re-use of window (or tab) when an message is already open. For example. --------------------- MESSAGES LIST --------------------- m1 --------------------- m2 --------------------- m3 --------------------- If m1 and m2 are open in a window (m1 in w1 and m2 in w2), when user click on messages list on m1 messages to open in a window TB should be re-use w1 to display message m1 because m1 is already open in a window. Current option "open in an existing window" open all messages in the same window.
@Aureliano Buendía: that's what i mean. So we just only can open one tab or window for one message.

I'm using 68.8.1 and see same issue. Double click on email opens in new tab. If tab not closed and subsequently perform same action on same email in list, focus does not go to the already opened tab, but creates a second tab. I thought it always did this even if not desirable.

Support Question also complaining of same issue, but they seem to believe this is a new problem.

There is a menu option under 'Go' to see 'Recently closed tabs' and you can also right click on tabs and see same 'Recently closed tabs', but in both methods there is no menu item to see 'Currently opened tabs'. Hence why people will select again to see email. This is more of an issue if you use 'open in a tab' and have alot of tabs open.
