Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.2) Gecko/20100316 Firefox/3.6.2 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.8) Gecko/20100227 Thunderbird/3.0.3 When reading an email, if you click on the from address of an email, you get a pop-up menu with the option to "Add to Address book". If you click on this option, the address gets added to the "Collected Addresses" address book (folder), not the "Personal Address Book" (folder). Yet when you go to Tools->Options...->Composition you'll find the default option to "Automatically add outgoing e-mail addresses to my:" and I think "Collected Addresses" is the default choice. So collected addresses are supposed to be automatically collected addresses from outgoing mail. Is it erroneous to force explicitly saved emails into the automatically collected folder? I'm pretty sure Thunderbird 2.0 used to let you add the email address of the email you're reading to your personal address book. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. See details above Actual Results: See 1st paragraph of "details" above. Expected Results: Clicking on the 'from' address in an email you're reading, then clicking on "Add to Address book" should go to the (manually collected) Personal Address Book by default.
I think this is being handled by bug 456167, and is a known issue. (See also bug 542140 and bug 517835, which resolve to the same problem.)
