This bug is an offshoot of 27687. Basically, the problem is that this
orphaned default load channel is used by the cookie module to test for
whether the cookie is comming from/going to the originating server or not.
After a redirect, the value in this orphanied default load channel was wrong
and the cookie module test was failing. A band-aid patch was put in to solve
the cookie module's problem but this was just a bandaid. See my comments of
2000-10-08 12:46 in that report for details.
I'm assuming that this would affect all platforms; setting platform = ALL.

I've just checked in a patch (attached to bug #63529) which fixes this.
