User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100401 Firefox/3.6.3 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100401 Firefox/3.6.3 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) A website changed my reload preferences so each time I opened Firefox it automatically did "restore last session". Had to go in Options and change it. The website had constant pop-ups, (especially the "Dont navigate away from this page OK/CANCEL") and tried to do an automatic download. I think this link points to the webpage http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://img.metro.co.uk/i/pix/2007/03/angellicaFHM_450x250.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.metro.co.uk/showbiz/43267-angelica-reveals-her-sexy-new-image&h=250&w=450&sz=24&tbnid=WdmUsQ1SmqBbmM:&tbnh=71&tbnw=127&prev=/images%3Fq%3DAngellica%2BBell&usg=__9lTUG3rzMXOChx4daIFy18J3Ct4=&ei=ml3DS4z9I4X00gTpvcCTCQ&sa=X&oi=image_result&resnum=1&ct=image&ved=0CAgQ9QEwAA I searched for Angellica Bell (a uk actress on TV) its the "nice sofa" (ahem) picture that goes to the link. I think I've cleared it, but I'll have to do a full AV scan now just in case. Reproducible: Always Block the website doing an auto reload and auto download. It changed these Options so what other options can it change? I have just updated to the newer version of Firefox (I was only on the previous build) and I have not tried the website since...
Version: unspecified → 3.6 Branch

Confirmed on FF 26 Nightly. Steps to reproduce: - Open http://metro.co.uk/2007/03/29/angelica-reveals-her-sexy-new-image-233226/ (slightly nsfw) in a fresh browser instance - Open a new tab - Close Metro.co.uk - Close the browser - Restart the browser Note that if you just close the browser again it forgets about the "remembered" tab.
Status: UNCONFIRMED → NEW
Ever confirmed: true
More details: OK, apparently the steps to repro above don't work. - Open http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://img.metro.co.uk/i/pix/2007/03/angellicaFHM_450x250.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.metro.co.uk/showbiz/43267-angelica-reveals-her-sexy-new-image&h=250&w=450&sz=24&tbnid=WdmUsQ1SmqBbmM:&tbnh=71&tbnw=127&prev=/images%3Fq%3DAngellica%2BBell&usg=__9lTUG3rzMXOChx4daIFy18J3Ct4=&ei=ml3DS4z9I4X00gTpvcCTCQ&sa=X&oi=image_result&resnum=1&ct=image&ved=0CAgQ9QEwAA (slightly nsfw) in a fresh browser instance - CLick the "x" button next to the image. It should open a page on metro.co.uk. - Open a new tab - Close Metro.co.uk - Close the browser - Restart the browser Interestingly, the General prefs window is blank (see attachment 798517 [details]), though it fixes itself the second time I open it. I'll have to see if this behavior is consistent.
Note: for me, popups were blocked by default and there was no download.

Closing this as resolved: incomplete due the long time this bug was logged, the functionality most likely changed since then.
Please feel free to reopen this bug if you think otherwise.
