Details

Observed with all of Thunderbird 3.0.4, Tb3.1b2pre, Tb3.2a1pre. Duplicated(local mail folder) or excess(IMAP folder) X-Mozilla-Status:/X-Mozilla-Status2: headers is generated by Drag of .eml file which is saved by Thunderbird as .eml from local mail folder. This is because Thunderbird doesn't remove X-Mozilla-Status:/X-Mozilla-Status2: headers upon save in .eml. Even if duplicated X-Mozilla-Status:/X-Mozilla-Status2 headers are generated by import via Drag&Drop, when the mail in local mail folder is copied to IMAP folder, both sets of X-Mozilla-Status:/X-Mozilla-Status2 are removed upon copy. [Steps to reproduce] 1. Save a mail in local mail folder as ".eml" file. => X-Mozilla-Status:/X-Mozilla-Status2: is written 2. Import the .eml file by Drag&Drop to thread pane. Local mail folder : duplicated X-Mozilla-Status:/X-Mozilla-Status2: IMAP mail folder : single(excess) X-Mozilla-Status:/X-Mozilla-Status2:

Might this - seemingly unaddressed problem - be connected to other situations wherein Thunderbird duplicates messages?

On such duplication, see https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=209501, which itself mentions other bug reports. I am suffering from such duplication on Thunderbird 68.4.1 (on a Thunderbird installation with no filters installed).
