After dragging an XPI into the about:addons tab and clicking "Install Now", the yellow-boxed "Ready to install" message at the bottom of the page is really easy to miss. I have a big monitor, and my eyes were focused on the top of the page where the install dialog popped up. After clicking Install Now I waited a few seconds for something to happen before realizing a yellow box had appeared at the bottom.

Hmm, that should indeed be showing at the top.

It has been showing up at the top, but I wonder if an installed or updated add-on should not appear where it would once it has been installed as it does in the Extension tab of the old Add-on Mgr. UI.

Newly installed add-ons should have emphasis in the add-ons manager - at least for the duration of one session. There are two ways to give this emphasis:
1. The number of new add-ons per category that have not yet been viewed should appear as a small number after the name of that category. Once the category is selected or a new session begins (whichever happens first), the number should disappear.
2. New add-ons should have a different graphical style in the add-on list than older add-ons, such as a different border. They should also be denoted as new-addons in lieu of the "last updated" text. The new add-ons should also appear at the top of the list since by default we should order extensions and themes in the order of last update.

How does the styles presented in this mockup relate to the styling of the new mockups?

These would have the same basic functionality, with different styling (see attached)

I don't believe that this blocks anymore. Add-ons that need a restart to install should be prominent enough now, anything more would be nice but I would ship without it.
