When I prefix my searches with *, ^, or +, I don't get switch to tab results. If I remove that special character from my queries, I do get those results. It seems that switch to tab tries to match those special characters in tab titles/urls as well. Note that we shouldn't hardcode those values; instead we should honor the following prefs: browser.urlbar.restrict.bookmark browser.urlbar.restrict.history browser.urlbar.restrict.tag browser.urlbar.restrict.typed
i just tested restricting by tag and a URL that matched an open tab was displayed, and was a switch-to-tab result.
Fixed by bug 564395, I think.
