User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.6) Gecko/20100625 Firefox/3.6.6 ( .NET CLR 3.5.30729) Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.4) Gecko/20100608 Thunderbird/3.1 I like the new quick search interface with the "Filter messages by" buttons. It's intuitive and easy to change and in-your-face. However, for many years I have been annoyed that thunderbird only allows disjunctive searches in the quick search. I suggest adding the ability to do either conjunctive or disjunctive searches, meaning with respect to the words typed by the user in the quick search box. There could be a pair of buttons on the same line as "Filter Messages by", such as: Combine search terms by: AND OR where AND and OR are buttons. For example, if I type in the quick search area: Smith Party and click the AND button, it would show me all messages that contain both of those words in whatever message fields (Sender/Recipients/Subj/Body) are selected at the moment. I find the current behavior of OR search only to be too loose most of the time, and I find it annoying and time consuming to have to invoke the Edit->Find->Search Messages command (and its results are poorly presented). Reproducible: Always
