This is by design, click once to add it to the unsorted bookmarks, click it twice to open the panel. Tts been this way for a long time. -->WONTFIX

Right click behavior open the context menu for the nav bar, this is by design.

True, this isn't a bad request to add functionality when right clicking on the star, though probably not needed. It would be consistent with having access to functionality just like right clicking on the back button does.
