This probably requires upgrading the gcc version on tinderbox. When I checked in Bug 522770 gcc 4.3 helpfully expanded the various response files and passed a full command line to a helper process (collect2 IIRC) which died because the command line was too long.

I forgot about this bug. The patches in bug 584474 actually do that (turn fakelibs on everywhere).
