after upgrading from 4.0b2 to 4.0b3 and restarting, I can't find my browser windows I'm running Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; rv:2.0b3) Gecko/20100805 Firefox/4.0b3 and under my Window menu item I see three windows listed, the ones I had when I restarted to apply the update, but only one of them is visible (the one I am using to log this bug). I opened this one from the Mac OS X dock. The missing windows aren't in the Mac OS X dock either. If I try to switch to them by using the Windows menu, nothing happens. if I do command ` to switch between this window and the other windows, nothing happens.
I quit, accidentally started 3.6.x (instead of 4.0b3) and got my windows back. when I quick 3.6.x and run 4.0b3 again, I have my windows back too.
I re-installed 4.0b2 and upgraded again, and this time windows were all at the bottom of the screen, but at least I could access them. I tried one more time, and I'm not seeing the bug. hopefully others see weirdness and have better steps to reproduce.
Seth, could this be bug 586910?
Drew, thanks for the quick response! Your description in bug #586910 sounds spot on: "I can view the window in the Windows menu, but when I click it there, nothing happens. When I try to cycle to it with Cmd+`, nothing happens." It's possible that I had a negative x coordinate for those windows when I restarted on the update, but I don't remember doing that. They might have just been minimized. I'll take 4.0b2, set some windows with a negative x coordinate and some minimized and then upgrade to 4.0b3 and see if that reproduces the bug. If so, I'll mark this as a dup of bug #586910. Does that bug block 4.0? I'd hate for people going from 3.6.x -> 4.0 to hit this bug.

OS: Mac OS X → Windows 7
> results of your research?? :) Sorry about that. I was not able to reproduce it. It feels like a dup of #586910, but I couldn't prove it.
you don't say it's gone, so leaving to you to close it when appropriate
