Steps to reproduce: - compose a message with accented chars in mail body; - send out UTF-8 encoded; - get message, select it and forward as an attachment; - get a forwarded message, click on the attachment icon, chose Open (ooposite to Save); //note: non-ascii chars display is wrong
>- send out UTF-8 encoded; Is that working fine if you send as ISO-8859-1?
if i send it out as ISO-8859-1 accented chars will be displayed like "süjet" ,in utf-8 case it'll look like "süjet" (the actual word is "süjet")
I cannot reproduce this. Used win32 branch build 2000-11-03-09-MN6. I tried both plain and html for forwarded message. Marina, please attach the message you tested.
Accepting, looks like open attachment does not use "Content-Type" charset to open the part in browser.

Need to boil this down a bit more. Further investigation needed to determine what we should do about this bug.

Marina - Is this a very special case? Leaving out of nsbeta1 consideration for now.
Possibly related. Save a text file with cyrillic characters in either utf-8 or unicode. Then use that file as a signature. I'm getting similar results to those mentioned.

I can't reproduce this old bug. Richard Kirkcaldy's problem is either bug 153855 (plain text composition) or bug 138008 (HTML).
