There are several bugs related to problems with the 'rules' attribute of the
TABLE element (#24113, 21076, 48538, 41411, 43178). This attribute has been
disabled for Netscape 6.0. Writing up a general bug to trigger turning it back
on after RTM.
Adding relnoteRTM keyword with the following verbage for Release Notes:

Do we want to try to fix this for nsbeta1? (I don't even know what this does.
;->) Not nominating for now as I don't now how important/difficult this is.

I want to just confirm the bug (and add me to CCs ;-) the <table rulers=cols...>
don't work under Mozilla (0.9.5 Win98SE) - it shows all rulers. Under ie 5.0 the
page looks correct. The example page I'm talking about is:
http://www.cinet.dhs.org/~mchange/html.french/rates.html
worksforme in win2k, newest build.

Some testcases with rules seem to work and others don't. In reality, the 'rules'
attribute was turned off at the same time the CSS property 'border-collapse:
collapse' was turned off (they are inter-related) so in general, unless 'rules'
has been turned back on (check with Karnaze), they are still broken until
'border-collapse' is fixed (bug 41262 deals with border-collapse). Here are some
testcases that show that 'rules' are still not hooked up:
http://mozilla.org/quality/browser/standards/html/table_rules_none.html
http://mozilla.org/quality/browser/standards/html/table_rules_groups.html
http://mozilla.org/quality/browser/standards/html/table_rules_cols.html
http://mozilla.org/quality/browser/standards/html/table_rules_all_2.html
I am re-opening this bug.

Just a post script - you may see testcases where rules appear to work - however,
until the border-collapse issue gets resolved, they are not 'truly' working and
this bug should stay open.

Table rules have been turned off for a while now. Chris changed the target
milestone to mozilla1.0 some time in June. This bug was not fixed..
