User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:2.0b5pre) Gecko/20100829 Firefox/4.0b5pre Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:2.0b5pre) Gecko/20100829 Firefox/4.0b5pre On http://redtracker.runeterra.com/ and http://www.mmo-champion.com/ the white text is very differently rendered from Firefox 3.6.9. The text is normally, with ClearType on, rendered as it should, but on Minefield it is showing with those extra red/green pixels which will hurt your eyes very quickly. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Visit those URLs with a Windows 7 machine. 2. 3. Actual Results: Saw the text slightly larger and the red/green pixels appear which makes reading uncomfortable. Expected Results: Display the text slightly smaller and without those red/green pixels that show on Minefield. Firefox 3.6.9 does not have this problem at all.
Hsivonen asked me about my gfx.* settings on the Minefield install, they're all set to default. I personally find the current default on Minefield a big regression from the 3.6 series in viewing pleasure.
I don't see a difference between 3.6.x and Minefield with default settings on Windows 7 with default font settings running on a virtual machine whose graphics capability isn't enough for Glass/Aero stuff.
I don't have any trouble on Windows 7 with these 2 sites. According to me this is a DW issue (enabled by default in b5pre), which is graphic card dependent. For Minefield b5pre, go to "about:support" and provide a copy of the graphic info.

With Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:2.0b6pre) Gecko/20100901 Firefox/4.0b6pre I still have the same issue. The graphics details: Adapter Description NVIDIA Quadro NVS 160M Vendor ID 10de Device ID 06eb Adapter RAM 256 Adapter Drivers nvd3dumx,nvwgf2umx,nvwgf2umx nvd3dum,nvwgf2um,nvwgf2um Driver Version 8.17.12.5896 Driver Date 7-9-2010 Direct2D Enabled true DirectWrite Enabled true
I tried using the Windows 7 Basic Theme (which should disable Aero according to all the guides I found) and it didn't change anything in the resulting look 'n feel.
At least 4.0b7pre nightlies still have this visibly problematic display. If there are other things I can do/test, please let me know.
http://www.mmo-champion.com/content/ looks good to me with nightly build on vista. do you still see problem?
