http://hg.mozilla.org/try/rev/08d6e565ab29 Setp 1 tryserver build. I created two windows and several tabs within. Then I went into Panorama mode on both. I made sure the number, order, and tabs matched on both windows. Then I selected on of the tabs in one window to go into normal mode there. When I attempt to get out of Panorama mode in the other window, by selecting a tab, it seems like the other window goes into Panorama mode on its own. I end up having two windows that can't be on normal mode at the same time.

I believe it's to do tab swapping. If you select a tab in one window to go into normal mode and then you select a tab in the same group in the Panorama mode in the other window, the other window would go into Panorama mode on its own. That's because we can need to move the tabs in that group to another window so we can show the same set of tabs in both window at the same time. You should be able to have two windows in the normal mode at the same time when both windows have different tab groups showing. Ian/Aza: any comments?

Raymond: That is correct. You should be able to have as many windows in tab candy mode as you want, but only one window at a time can look at a group of tabs.

Juan, can you verify that you can get out of Panorama mode in both windows if you make sure to take each window into a different group?

We're not implementing all-windows now, so punting to the future.

Panorama has been removed from Firefox 45, currently in Beta and scheduled for release on March 7th. As such, I'm closing all existing Panorama bugs. If you are still using Panorama, you will see a deprecation message in Firefox 44, and when 45 is released your tab group data will be migrated to bookmarks, with a folder for each group. There are also a few addons offering similar functionality. See https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/tab-groups-removal for more info. We're removing Panorama because it has extremely low usage (about 0.01% of users), and has a large number of bugs and usability issues. The cost of fixing all those issues is far too high to justify, and so we'll instead be focusing our time and energy on improving other parts of Firefox.
