Build: To reproduce, open any of the following in Navigator: * the Back button menu * the Forward button menu * the address field auto-complete menu * the Bookmarks menu. What you see: * The menu items use the large system font (e.g. Charcoal 12). What you should see: * The menus use the same font as their parent widget.
To clarify, by `the Bookmarks menu' I am referring to the Bookmarks menu in the Personal Toolbar, when it is turned on in the prefs.

This problem now occurs with the Modern theme as well.
Summary: [Classic Mac] Menu items should use same font as their parent menubutton → Menu items should use same font as their parent menubutton

Someone seems to have fixed this in recent builds, and its a disaster! While it may be acceptable for the Back/Forward menus etc, its hopeless for things like the personal toolbar and the bookmarks button/menu on the personal toolbar. Not only do these previously normal looking menus now look wrong - but the font being used doesn't have the command (clover-leaf), shift key, control key or option key glyphs. Therefore when bug 70048 is checked in, the keyboard shortcuts in the bookmarks menu appear as little missing character boxes [] rather than the correct symbols. Ironically, this works right in modern!

Filed bug 91843 on the recent regresions.
This is fixed on Classic, and is now only a problem on Modern. In Modern, context menus have the appropriate (large) font, but Back and Forward menus and Personal Toolbar menus do not use the appropriate (small) font.

interesting. i think this is still the case on mac os 9.1 --eg, i get large Charcoal in my context menus [using 2001.10.01.03-branch comm]. however, when i bring up context menus on mac os 10.0.4 [2001.10.01.04-branch comm], the font is the same --but in the context menu font is not bold [like the main menu font], and i *think* even a bit smaller than the main menu font. is what i'm seeing *this* bug, a different issue, or expected behavior?
Hrm, I just tried this with the Classic skin in 2001100108 and I definately got a small font - probably Geneva, which doesn't support the keyboard accelerator glyphs which mpt thinks should be removed. Sairuh - did you use Modern or Classic?
fwiw see my bug on bad font usage in modern skin, bug 102224.
lordpixel: my 2001-10-01 19:17 comments were based on using the modern theme. in addition, when i do use classic, i see what you see: the context menu font is small and Geneva.

Since bug 91843 was fixed, this is now a problem on both Classic and Modern.
