I'm just starting to learn to use that tool.
> Do you mean that .2202 fixes this crash? even .2189. I scanned manually a lot of crashes and only .2186 crashes FF. Chris, Crash analysis with "App notes" field would be very appreciated : http://people.mozilla.org/crash_analysis/
OK but in bug 595364 comment 17 we have a D2D crash with version .2189 on the same card. So we can't allow .2189...
Sure. All Scoobidiver is saying is that this particular crash is fixed in .2189; they clearly have other crashes in that. :)
sample of 100 reports with signature igd10umd32.dll@0x280a1 from the last 7 days 67 AdapterVendorID: 8086, AdapterDeviceID: 0046 21 AdapterVendorID: 8086, AdapterDeviceID: 2a42 like http://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/9edddf3d-ccbf-4e0d-b224-18f7e2100921 6 AdapterVendorID: 8086, AdapterDeviceID: 0042 like http://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/a5636d17-c3dd-408c-adfb-831922100926 4 AdapterVendorID: 8086, AdapterDeviceID: 2e22 like http://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/9e113d06-b0a6-4010-b355-edf512100926
All these are from the 4500/HD generation. 0046 = Intel Mobile HD Graphics 2a42 = Mobile 4 Series Chipset Integrated Graphics Controller (it was not even in our list). 0042 = Intel HD graphics 2e22 = Intel G45 We have to blacklist 0046 for now, we just get too many crash reports. Being done in bug 595364. The question is what to do about the others? If we start blacklisting all Intel graphics on which we get reports of crashes in the UMD driver, we'll end up blacklisting virtually all D2D-capable intel hardware, so we might just as well do that until the driver issues are fixed.
Benoit, Please, see the module tab of each crash and search igd10umd32.dll and you will see the driver version All these 4 cards crash only with graphic driver 8.15.10.2186 as it is written in the bug title. These cards don't crash with 8.15.10.2182, 8.15.10.2189, 8.15.10.2202. In the Intel matrix driver, the min driver version for Vista/7 8.15.10.2182 must be replaced by 8.15.10.2202. 0046 must not be blacklisted because we don't have any other crash signature with that deviceID (see bug 595364 comment 34) unless you give us a driver crash id that implicated 0046 and 8.15.10.2202.
Thanks, I didn't realize that. I have no idea whether that means that 2202 fixes the bug or that users haven't yet updated to 2202, but in the very short term (for beta 7) that doesn't make a difference, either way requiring 2202 will make the crashes disappear for users.
Depends on: 595364
http://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/rev/b07c0925efe5 Please confirm that the crash is gone in tomorrow's nightly.
I tag it as "resolved" and "fixed". Let's wait to change "resolved" in "verified".
