When using proxy authentication the proxy login box shows the URL of the remote
host you are trying to access.
eg: Set proxy to proxy.test.schools.net.au 3128. Now type in the url
www.dd.com.au. The dialog box shows proxy auth (with the valid realm) with the
domain name of www.dd.com.au.
Also even with the valid name and password, the authentication information is
not being passed to the proxy host. Thus it brings up the box again requesting
authentication for www.dd.com.au (wrong host). These bugs are probably combined.

FYI Authentication works correctly in Netscape 6 but not in Mozilla M18

Scott,
M18 is quite old. Could you try a recent nightly build (go to
http://www.mozillazine.org/build_comments/ and pick a build for your platform)?
If it works in Netscape 6, chances are it's been fixed on the trunk as well...

Due to no reponse marking as INVALID. Reopen if its still a problem in the
latest nightly builds.

The first problem was resolved/fixed per Neeti...
The second problem is fixed now, and future failures would fail the proxy
smoketest, so it doesn't mattter.
