When minefield is closed the tasks on the start menu jump list just has 'Enter Private Browsing'. When minefield is running the task list is supposed to have the additional items 'Open new tab' & 'Open new Window' There is an intermittent issue where the additional entries are not added to the jump list when minefield is running. This only appears to happen on the start menu jump list, and never on the taskbar jump list. I include a screenshot of minefield running with the start menu jumplist missing items. This problem can be intermittent, and the jumplist state appears to be consistent in a browser session, only on browser restart will the state switch between working and broken. Regression range: 2010-09-20-04 works http://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/rev/b1d56e69f4d9 2010-09-21-04 broken http://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/rev/8528ce3f97ce http://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/pushloghtml?fromchange=b1d56e69f4d9&tochange=8528ce3f97ce Looks like bug 594821 - delay initial jump list update may be the culprit. A patch was pushed that day despite the bug having been renamed and currently still open. At lease one other person has confirmed they are seeing this on mozillazine, however others can't reproduce. Not sure of the correct component, maybe a core thing, please move as necessary.
Forgot to mention, in order to reproduce, and the way I did regression testing was: 1. Install minefield using the installer in order to get jump list in start menu. 2. Using start menu search locate minefield entry and right click and pin to start menu. 3. Right click on minefield entry in start menu and modify the target path so it points to firefox.exe from the downloaded and extracted zip of the test build. 4. Click ok and then run minefield from this modified start menu shortcut.
Yeah, it should be addressed when they fix bug 598229, it was definitely bug 594821.
Depends on: 598229
