In Japanese Linux build, the menu items "‚` ` ‚y•À‚Ñ‘Ö‚¦‡" and "‚y ` A•À‚Ñ‘Ö‚¦‡"
in Manage Bookmark dialog, History dialog, and Search Bookmark/History dialog are
displayed as "‚` ? ‚y•À‚Ñ‘Ö‚¦‡" and "‚y ? A •À‚Ñ‘Ö‚¦‡"
This happens in Linux and Win95J only.
"`" is not displayed at all on Win95J.
Tested 2000-11-08 JA build.

Teruko, does this still happen with trunk build?
We do drawing differently on Win95J due to some Unicode bugs in Win95J.
Erik, could this have something to do with the Win95J problem?

Teruko said that it happens on Linux and Win95J only, so I don't think it's
related to the Win95J problem.

I tested this in 01-09-08 build. I can reproduce this on Linux build.
I can see the "`" in browser and composer on linux build, but I can see
"`" as "?" in the menu item.
This works fine in Windows 95J and Winnt 4.0J.

can we work around this bug by using "->" instead ?

The original en-US used '>', "A > Z Sort Order", "Z > A Sort Order".
For language which is not alphabet based, they can be localized "Ascending" and
"Descending" instead of replacing '>' by '~'.

Reassign to ftang,
I think this is caused by bug 65991 - "ISO-2022-JP encoder cannot map \u301C".

After I talked with Naoki, this may be dup of bug 65991
Frank, we can change the translation. We will open the translation bug
in bugscape, but we should keep this original bug.
