When clicking the back / forward buttons in the new addons manager, they apparently have some kind of history implemented, so they get back the history on clicking back and forward on clicking forward.
However:
When trying those out, I did not get the idea that those were history navigation buttons. I expected those to simply go back / forward one add-ons category, which lead me to assume they behaved randomly.
So, I suppose you either make it clearer that those are history buttons OR make them circle through all the categories OR remove them at all.

I think it will be more clear once only the browser back/forward buttons OR the addons manager's back/forward buttons are shown (bug 597178 and bug 571970). And once the theme work lands to make them look more like the browser back/forward buttons (bug 601022).

i'm pretty sure this is the bug i'm looking for.
i've noticed this problem over the last 3 or 4 betas. It appears the mix between the web-based frame that displays the Addon market & addon detail pages, and the chrome(?)-based UI for installed Addons, plugins, & themes are not co-mingling very well. The ways that each content type registers navigation into History not only conflict, they overwrite each other, resulting in disappointingly unexpected navigation issues.
i've checked this against installed addons & a new profile, and feel confident it's not a conflict there.
i originally wrote up a big detailed explanation of behaviors i've observed, but it got long, because the only navigation that seems to work consistently is if you open about:addons to the "Get Addons" panel, and don't go to any other panels. If you view an addon's detail page, you can navigate back. But as soon as you go to a different panel, History breaks.
Would love to see this issue fixed after 3 or more betas that have had it.
