After you click on text in the CNN sidebar, the up and down keys scroll the sidebar, but Ctrl-U (view source) and Ctrl-R (reload) affect the content area of the main browser window instead of the content area of the sidebar. If the sidebar is in mailnews instead of a browser window, the keyboard shortcuts don't do anything. cc pollmann (maybe this is a general frames issue), blake, mpt.
something similar was reported in bug 61124 (linux), but there the bug *only* triggers when in mailnews.

The CNN.com sidebar is not getting focus in current builds (branch at least) so even scrolling is not working. The sidebar tabs should get focus when opened explicitly. bryner, Could you have a look at this focus issue? Thanks.

Well, I see that we always focus the page content in SidebarShowHide() in sidebarOverlay.js... shouldn't we be focusing the sidebar if it's being shown?
> The sidebar tabs should get focus when opened explicitly. bug 50223, Clicking on Sidebar tab should set focus to sidebar page or widget.
in a current build on win32, we seem to be back to the behavior of being able to scroll the sidebar, but the ctrl-key shortcuts going to the main page instead.

'reload' from the context menu for the sidebar (right-click inside the sidebar window) also reloads the main page instead of the sidebar (RC1/win32)

Because of this, we're resolving the bug as EXPIRED. Still there — although this needs to be considered carefully. It'd be quite confusing if a *browser* shortcut would reload the sidebar panel or show its source instead of the main content. The sidebar isn't the primary window content, it's just a *side*bar...
