Can you expand a bit on what your issue is ? I don't grasp what your problem is with the above description.
The Thunderbird icon on the dock doesn't jump or have any number on it, telling me I have one (or more) new email when I receive an email which is classified by a filter. It's the same problem either the filter classifies my email to the local folders or any other folder in different email accounts. I normally receive a notification for all other emails when no filter runs on it. Hope it's clear enough, my english is a bit rusted...

Summary: No notification when a filter runs → No new mail notification when a filter runs
I suspect my problem is related to this: as part of my filters I move mail from an account to another one. The dock icon shows up, so I know I have unread mail. I bring up TB's window, and press N consecutively to read unread mail. _If_ there is no new mail left unmoved the dock icon won't hide when I finish reading the moved new mail. I'll explain just in case: a@a.com (account through which I receive both mail for a@a.com and b@b.com) A filter moves all mail sent to b@b.com to another account (let's call it c@c.com). This is done for historical reasons (histerical raisins?;) I receive mail for a@a.com, and one or more mails sent to b@b.com get in and are automatically moved to c@c.com's Inbox. I press N to go to the next unread mail and read those mails, and after reading the last one, pressing N takes me nowhere else (of course, there are no more unread mails left). But the dock icon still signals there is unread mail left.
By the way, I hope I acted correctly adding my comment here... and my problem happens on Windows.
