Full screen mode is supposed to hide all browser chrome and display content only. However, the new status panel remains.
Steps to reproduce: 1. Navigate to http://www.donothingfor2minutes.com/ 2. Press F11 to enter full screen mode 3. Notice that the status panel continues to come in and out over lower left of screen.
I thought this whole status panel thing was created just because there was no information about where you are going when hovering a link.. correct me if I'm wrong.
Now that the fix for bug 629969 has landed, this does not appear to be as much of an issue.
users have wanted this info in fullscreen since bug 126720.

Not a dup. XHR shouldn't be the only way to make a full-screen web app quiet.

I disagree with the premise of this bug. Fullscreen doesn't mean "don't show URLs when you hover"

We have kiosk mode for that now.
Bug 1622325 seems like it was something different. The cursor was not over a link, but the URL was still showing when they were on the HBO go site. That seems worth investigating.

Hm, I can see the argument go both ways. There are different use cases for fullscreen mode... neither of which are invalid.

We have kiosk mode for that now.

That's not really accessible to ordinary users.

I should have been more specific. I looked at other browsers, and this doesn't seem to be a thing with any other browsers. URL hovers are shown. My bigger concern is that links don't go away sometimes (we have other bugs on that as well)

Priority: P3 → P5
