If the mail window is already open, clicking the "New mail" icon activates it. However, it should also open the inbox. Steps to reproduce problem: 1. Open mail window 2. Select another mail folder (or a newsgroup) 3. Click the mail icon in the taskbar Expected result: inbox opens Actual results: nothing happens Additional information: tooltip in 4.x is "Inbox" rather than "Mail" Also: 4.x has /inbox (or -inbox) startup option.

Better still, open the first folder with unread messages in case they have been filtered.

1) I believe the tooltip is supposed to be "Mail and Newsgroups" rather than "Mail". 2) This contradicts behaviour which I just found to be missing. If I want to browse news and mail at the same time, I have to open Mail/News, then double-click a newsgroup to open another Mail/News window. Clicking on the Mail/News taskbar icon or Tasks menu entry does nothing when an existing Mail/News window is present. It should open a *new* Mail/News window if I want one. Perhaps a preference is needed here, or a modifier key when clicking the taskbar icon. But then the taskbar has an axe hovering over it's head anyway... Need input on this from others really.

Communicator had an Inbox icon which just opened/selected the inbox. Communicator also had a Newsgroups menu/taskbutton which I think opened a new messenger window (although my pref is to open its Message Center which mozilla doesn't have (yet)). I've managed to dup my own bug 68299, sigh, brain transplant anyone?
