Build ID: 12/21 trunk (tip) Steps to Reproduce: Make sure you have enough imported IE favorites to make that submenu scrollable (or make another bookmarks folder scrollable) and... (1) Start Navigator. (2) Go to Bookmarks > Imported IE Favorites (or your scrollable submenu) (3) Pause for, like, 2 seconds after the menu opens. (4) Switch apps. Result: the Bookmarks menu and the autoscrollable one are still open as you switch apps, etc. This only seems to happen with autoscrollable submenus (as opposed to autoscrollable menus)
Nevermind. This has nothing to do with autoscrollable menus or submenus (which makes this baby all yours, pink ;-) Instead, it seems that any menu stays open as long as you don't bring the cursor outside its bounds before switching apps. For example, I bookmarked enough items such that my Bookmarks menu was just long enough to reach the Windows taskbar, but not scrollable. So I clicked Bookmarks, brought the cursor straight down the menu onto the Windows taskbar (without letting it leave the menu during this time), and then switched apps. The menu then remains open. It seems like you either have to pause with the cursor over the parent item, or anywhere over the autoscrollable submenu
Summary: Autoscrollable submenus remain open after switching app → Menus remain open after switching app unless cursor exits menu
er...ignore that last sentence, `It seems...submenu'
Spam 4 sale: you still have to pause for a second or two (or just move down the menu a bit more slowly) before switching apps. I don't see this if I click Bookmarks and quickly move through the menu then switch apps.
I can't make this happen on win2k (sounding like a broken record). What do you mean by switch apps -- Alt-Tab?
This would be easiest if done in person, but since that's not possible... Is this bug 45108, then? Sounds very similar.
Blake -- that is what I tried and ... oh, now I can indeed do it. Dean -- sounds like the same base cause.
I won't call this a dupe yet, but I will mark it dependent.
Depends on: 45108
we shipped one version with this, we can probably ship another.

I wonder if my patch for bug 50798 magically fixes this, since this seems to be focus-related as well. I'll try this when I get home tonight.
Uhhh, no.

Man, this one really bugs me, and there are a lot of similar bugs to this one. I'll try to get to it this weekend.
See bug 45108 for a possible explanation and patch.
fixed.

Tough to verify, since menus now do a much better job of staying above the taskbar. Marking verified based on 45108 is verified. Reopen if you still see this.
