There is something wrong with animated gif display, using mozilla 0.6
I can't report too much server hits or so, so I think this bug is not a
duplicate of 48546.
The URL to reproduce is a summary page of a Distributed.net team, and has a
large number of small, short animated gifs, of 3 different kinds.
When the page is displayed in a mozilla window mozilla starts requiring a lot of
CPU power to render it and as a result the application becomes unresponsive.
Mozilla uses 72-80% of my CPU when the webpage is displayed, and my modem rests
idle (no web traffic). I have tried all possible cache configuration settings
(never reload - once a session - everytime), but that doesn't affect this bug.
System: Win NT 4.0, 56k dialup connection, 256 MB, Celeron 900 MHz.
Mozilla: Mozilla 0.6 (sorry that I can not test this on a more recent nightly)
Dup of bug 44588, "Animated GIF's Animate Very Slowly," which also mentions high
CPU usage.
