User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:2.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:2.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0 In an effect similar to the Flash page scrolling bug, scrolling up and down on a page with some Java applets causes the web page to be drawn over the Java applet's GUI panels until a repaint is triggered in the applet. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Load page 2. Scroll up and down repeatedly Actual Results: A copy of the area of a web page either above or below the Java applet panel is drawn into the panel. Expected Results: Page and applets should be separate. Windows 7 64-bit Nvidia GeForce 8600M GT, drivers 266.58 Screen resolution: 1920x1080 Using a 125% level zoom on the page Firefox 4 b10 (at least) through to RC1, 32-bit Java 6 update 23, 32-bit The source code for the applet on the example page is included on the page too, apparently.

Can you check out if this is dependent on D3D10 on/off and/or D2D on/off?
Version: unspecified → Trunk
Yes, the bug could not be reproduced when hardware acceleration with D2D was disabled for both example sites.
Please post the Content of the Graphics Section you can get via "about:support" with enabled Hardware Acceleration.

The bug still exists in: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:6.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/6.0
I can reproduce this in Firefox 10 on Windows 7, but only inconsistently (several attempts but only one success). Are you still able to reproduce this consistently?
Yes, I can still consistently (always) reproduce this bug on Firefox 9.0.1. Possibly related, but I can still also reproduce the Flash version of this bug on YouTube, but less reliably.
This bug is still present in Firefox 11.0.
i confirm this bug. Windows 7, Firefox 11, Nvidia Graphic Card.
This bug is still present in Firefox 12.0.

This bug is still present in Firefox 15.0.
This bug is never fixed, so I switched to Google Chrome.
So did I, and our support departement no longer suggests Firefox but Chrome as our preferred browser. We still get approximately 350 calls and emails per week with people having problems with IE (or Firefox) which we suggest to run Chrome instead.
This bug is still present in Firefox 20.0.1.
The HTML <applet> element and related java functionality was removed from Gecko in Bug 1279218. Marking related bugs as invalid.
