Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; en-US; rv:1.9.2.15) Gecko/20110303 Firefox/4RC
The apple macbookpro uses an automatic graphics switching
-nvidia gpu - battery consuming
-intel hd - less battery consuming
the firefox 3 does not cause the nvidia gpu to be switched on
but firefox 4 causes the gpu to be switched on
this is causing my battery to drain out soon
making me unable to use it for a long time
and also the laptop gets hot overtime
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
just use a macbook pro
you will see
Actual Results:
gpu switched on and the lap gets hot
Expected Results:
there should have been an optimised software
or atleast an option that does not switch on the graphics card
its urgent

Uncheck “Use hardware acceleration when available” in the Advanced section of the Preferences/Options dialog.
