isn't a pleasure for eyes
Aureliano, which build vs. which build are you comparing? This looks more like a core issue, there apparently have been font-rendering patches recently landing on mozilla-central.
(In reply to comment #2) > Aureliano, which build vs. which build are you comparing? This looks more like > a core issue, there apparently have been font-rendering patches recently > landing on mozilla-central. In attached screenshot I have compared yesterday and today build. But in the past month when I have installed Aero patch, TB behaves the same of today build. FYI I have cleartype enable but I don't think is related. If you have any idea of the time of patches landing I can investigate for find (in my spare time) a regression range (if a regression range exits...)
There was a thread somewhere in the MozillaZine Firefox Builds forums on recent font changes, I can't look it up right now though as it is down...
This looks like a core issue when -moz-appearance: -moz-win-borderless-glass is used. The patch is doing nothing with the fonts. Aureliano can you check, if D2D and HW acceleration is enabled? If yes, can you disable it and check again.
I have gfx.direct2d.disabled=true and layers.acceleration.disabled = false. Changing layers.acceleration.disabled behaves the same
Depends on: 569400
No longer depends on: 545557
I've made a today omni.jar file without the glass appearance but all other changes. Because of the 5MB I don't want upload to bugzilla. Aureliano would it be oay, when I send it directly to you and you can try it by exchanging it with the original omni.jar? Or I can upload only the CSS files and you can put them in the omni.jar. I tried this on my PC with Intel 945 chipset and see no difference. The text is always clear.
(In reply to comment #7) > Aureliano would it be oay, when I send it directly to you and you can try it by > exchanging it with the original omni.jar? Yes I can: send me new omni.jar for test! ;-)

The new omni.jar that Richard has sent me via private email fixes my issue. attached screenshot of new omni.jar in action. Thanks Richard!
Then this should be a core bug. The only change was removing -moz-appearance: -moz-win-borderless-glass. Which graphics driver are you using? With Intel 945 I see no blurring with Aero Glass enabled in TB.
(In reply to comment #10) > Which graphics driver are you using? Intel 4 Series Express Chipset Family

I can't because I have this issue on my Toshiba notebook that use a custom version of this driver and I can't install the update because Toshiba don't have been released the related version
xref bug #593833 layers.accelerate-all change?
(In reply to comment #15) > xref bug #593833 layers.accelerate-all change? No, because set layers.accelerate-all = true or false don't change anything.
Installing latest display driver from Intel don't solve the issue. No I have: Graphics Adapter Description: Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family Vendor ID: 8086 Device ID: 2a42 Adapter RAM: Unknown Adapter Drivers: igdumdx32 igd10umd32 Driver Version: 8.15.10.2302 Driver Date: 2-11-2011 Direct2D Enabled: false DirectWrite Enabled: true (6.1.7601.17563, font cache n/a) WebGL Renderer: Google Inc. -- ANGLE -- OpenGL ES 2.0 (ANGLE 0.0.0.541) GPU Accelerated Windows: 1/1 Direct3D 9
It fixes with latest intel driver (8.15.10.2302) and enabling D2D (gfx.direct2d.disabled = false) I set the issue as FIXED: feel free to set Invalid (because isn't TB related) if you think is better! :-D
