Details

Sometimes I mostly navigate through the web with the mouse (and and index page) to get to my frequently-visited sites. At other times, I use the control-L to open the Location dialog box and enter a URL. I've noticed that doing the latter tends to destabilize the browser. The effect is not always immediate, so this is difficult to reproduce. But I suspect that something along the keyboard-event handling chain is doing something nasty, because after frequent use of control-L Mozilla tends to crash from a Segmentation Fault. This has been the case for many months. I build from trunk cvs on a regular basis, often doing clobber builds and removing the entire ~.mozilla directory. I've noticed this effect on several different machines too, mostly Debian/Intel but also one Debian/PPC. I wish I could offer more. If anybody has any troubleshooting suggestions or requests, I'll try to get better information.
this sounds real, confirming.
