Performed much of the ramp-up to release as I feel I could. The website changes can go live as of ~4 hours from now... (or later) I'll push the updates live and do the announcement when I get up.

I suggest to do the website changes and announcement in sync so that it doesn't lead to too much confusion (but the updates can probably be decoupled from that).

Snippets Pushed Live, announcement out; this is released; We still have those few dep bugs; and I didn't get a build out to our virus-scan-vendor contact yet; but I'll do that part soon [days].

Snippets turned off, and doing a build 2. What I pushed live reports as "2.1b3pre" sadly. I'll provide more details later.
