We're trying to ascertain if there is a first run page for the aurora channel as it stands. If there is, we'd like to remove it. If we can't remove it for this release, we'd like to remove/disable for subsequent releases.

This could be implemented by the update snippet itself via bug 459972 but I doubt that bug will be fixed anytime soon so it might be better to do this in the browser for now.

Sorry--Rob, not sure if your comment means that we can remove the first run page, but through the browser as opposed to through bug 459972 or if its not possible to remove it at all. Can you clarify?
The first run page is part of browser and not app update so I am not really the one to make the call but I believe it can be one-off'd via nsBrowserContentHandler.js. Gavin would be able to answer this better than I can.

Sure, removing it based on the update channel is doable. We'll need to coordinate with releng to make sure we use the right build time channel name.
Actually, we can just do this by modifying the branding (an empty pref will result in no firstrun/whatsnew pages opening).

The Aurora branding currently does not include any firstrun or whatsnew pages - that can be revisited at later date.
