Currently when we switch folders we open up the new folder's db without closing
the old folder's db. We should probably keep around the n most recently used
db's and close the rest.
no doubt this would help performance, adding perf keyword.

Is this what causes me to lose huge quantities of RAM for the rest of the
session after reading newsgroups? n.p.m.general alone takes 16MB and I routinely
see the browser hit the 80MB to 100MB range after reading newsgroups.
Adding mlk even though the memory is returned on exit, it's held until then
apparently. Any chance of this for mozilla1.0?
