User-Agent:       Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US) AppleWebKit/534.10 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/8.0.552.237 Safari/534.10

When we select to view an email the attachments are shown in another pane.
When we change the selected message the attachement pane isn't update to the attachments of the newly selected message.
This makes thunderbird UNUSEABLE.
The bug existed also in a previous version, I had reported it and it had been corrected.


Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Select a message with attachments.
2.Look at the attachment pane and see the name of the attachment
3 [review].Change the selected message to another one with another attachment
4 [review].Note that the attachment pane hasn't been updated

While clearing the errors, changing the message 6 errors appear each time

Could you list all of them? The first one looks like it's just a warning and shouldn't do anything harmful.

I retried it and after having cleared the errors no new error appears.
So while I change the message the attachment pane isn't updated and no error occurs.

Does this also happens if you start Thunderbird in -safe-mode (see http://support.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode) ?

Unfortunatelly I cannot reply because actually the message changes. But I didn't any update on anything else.
Because the problem had reappeared in the past I do not know if any solution had been adopted in order to associate possible changes with the change or behaviour.

I actually see the problem and it is very annoying !!!
But in the past it suddenly stopped and reapeared againg in unknown circumstances.

What is the "this"?
(a) bug 533499 : bug 533499 occurs on local mail folder. i.e. IMAP is irrelevant.
                 Problem is in mail display only.
                 "Steps to reproduce" by me in bug 533499 is with IMAP,
                 because "Slowness in mail display" can be forced by IMAP. 
                 bug 612279 is also phenomenon with IMAP.
                 In addition to problem in mail display, IMAP relevant problem
                 may also be involved.
                 "Slowness in mail display" is easily forced if IMAP, so
                 "steps to reproduce" of bug 612279 is very convenient to observe
                 phenomenon like bug 533499.
(b) this bug   : I don't know whether same or not, although it sounds similar.
                 So I asked to bug opener.

desoft (bug opener), do you think your bug is duplicate of bug 533499?

Wada, do you need any particular information from bug opener to find out if this bug is a duplicate of one of the others?

My intention is to confirm or preferably close this bug as duplicate of something, because
- it doesn't always happen (e.g. it never happened to me)
- so description is too general (not enough detail), cannot be reproduced
- we need either better description and confirm here as NEW or dupe it to something with better description of problem

1) desoft (reporter), can you point us to the old bug which was corrected according to your comment 0?

2) desoft, when this bug happend to you, did it happen on a POP or IMAP account?

3) Do you still see this bug in TB17?

desoft, I don't understand your answer "the message changes".
4) Did you actually try to start TB in Safe Mode?
If yes, did the bug still occur when TB was in Safe Mode?
