User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:2.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:2.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0 When I am connected to VPN through Cisco AnyConnect VPN client, my web traffic is actually directed through the vpn. However after I have quit the vpn session, I am not able to open web pages or refresh web pages in firefox. Only after I restart firefox, I am able to fetch data in the browser. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Connect to Cisco AnyConnect VPN client. 2. Access web content like gmail, facebook 3. Now quit AnyConnect VPN 4. Try to open a page in new tab or refresh already opened page. 5. It will say Server not reachable. Actual Results: Web page is not refreshed Expected Results: The webpage should refresh
I cannot reproduce the issue. Does it still occur if you start Firefox in Safe Mode? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode How about with a new, empty profile? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Basic+Troubleshooting#Make_a_new_profile Can you attach screenshots of the issue? What would be the error message in this case in the Web Console? When does the browser get back to the normal state (examlpe: after a restart)? Thanks
Moreover, did this ever work for you with any Fx Version (3.0, 3.5, 3.6)?

This is happening because the proxy settings of the system gets modified when using vpn. Since as per the configured proxy settings, Firefox uses the system proxy settings, when vpn is disconnected, the system proxy settings is changed. Hence to get the updated proxy settings, I need to restart firefox. Not sure if this is a bug.
see also https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=726211 I am having the same pain with Cisco AnyConnect and FF.
