Any file downloaded from anywhere is given a gibberish name. This problem exists in Netscape 6 as well as Mozilla .7 I have seen this problem one every Mac I've used Netscape 6 on (I've only tested Mozilla .7 on this one) and in OS 8.6, 9.0.4, and 9.1 I have Stuffit Expander 5.5 installed on some machines, and version 6 installed on my machine. Expanded files get gibberish names, too. Example: I downloaded the iCab 2.4 browser and this is what I got: wxdfmxru.sit and then wxdfmxru Folder (when it was unstuffed).

Have you tried creating a new profile does this fix the problem?
