not so new, and as bugzilla grows, it gets worse. In particular the queries with an address takes time. What's most annoying is that on linux, at least, the throbber never stops, even after the socket has timed out. This one is related to/dup of bug 35844: "TCP sockets vanish: can't perform long queries in bugzilla" Component networking etc. 35844 is linux. But i suspect it's a general problem.
