I'm not sure to file a new bug or follow Bug628654. Thanks god firefox 4 bring back connection status after remove the status bar. But I found it has some problem showing flash connection like link below:

In Firefox 3.6, connection status will show downloading the video file from xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx ip address, but firefox 4 Chrome-like connection statusbar don't show any transferring movement after the page is loaded while downloading the video file
Reproducible: Always

We deliberately don't show the status popup after the page has loaded, see bug 629969.

Oh... well, now I understand why you do that.
Since it is a simply check if the throbber spins to hide the connection statusbar, it would be easy to add an entry in about:config to let user enable it manually, it has some pratical usages, like show the tranfering address make find video from cache much easier.
