Details

The patch for bug 502892 simply disabled the volume slider for audio-only HTML5 <video> and <audio> elements. Since fixing this without changing the appearance of the slider requires a complex platform-level fix, an alternate approach is being investigated in bug 649490, but either will do.
I vote we resolve this by fixing bug 649490; merge the volume control into the main control bar.
