Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.0; rv:2.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0.1
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.0; rv:2.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0.1
Firefox now proposes me to "Go to tab" when I type something looking like to an existing tab. Original idea. It annoys me. I must be careful not to choose it by mistake when I type some stuff. I prefer not to have it, so my first request is:
Please provide an option to disable that.
Anyway, having this annoying "Go to tab" proposition *in addition to* the wanted entries would not a big deal.
But the "Go to tab" proposition *replaces* my wanted entry! This is much more serious. I have some page in the history, I begin typing its title or address, and it does not get auto-completed, and I can not go to it from the auto-complete history. This is really bad. So, my second request:
Please put the relevant entries in the auto-complete history, even if some of them are already open.
Thanks,
Nicolas Barbulesco
Reproducible: Didn't try
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to address www.apple.com/iphone/ in a Firefox tab.
2. Open a new Firefox window.
3. In the new window, begin typing the address "www.apple.com/iphone/" or the title "Apple - iPhone 4 - Video calls, multitasking, HD video, and more" of the page.
Actual Results:
The existing tab removes useful functionality.
Expected Results:
The existing tab adds some functionality or does nothing.
Firefox 4.0.1 Windows.

Hold down SHIFT (or ALT) when the switch-to-tab entry is selected and press enter to reopen the same page.
Otherwise you can disable the functionality using this add-on https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/switch-to-tab-blacklist/ and setting its pref to [".*"]
Also, one request per bug report please.

Thank you, Shift is nice. But before using it, I have to find the entry.
Which is hard, because the text "Go to tab" hides the entry's address. This workaround would be better if Shift entered in effect even before I choose the
entry in the list.

I remember that, on Windows, pressing Shift transformed the "Go to tab" line into a normal history line, thus allowing me to select it.
Now I encounter the "Go to tab" annoying behaviour on Mac OS X 10.6.8 on Firefox 5.0, and Shift does the transformation *but the line is transformed back into "Go to tab" when I release Shift*. So I cannot use the Shift workaround.
