User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; rv:5.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/5.0
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; rv:5.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/5.0
In Firefox 4.0, when you move or resize a tab group, alignment guidelines appear. The edge of the tab group you're modifying snaps to align with the edge of another tab group, or the edge of the screen.
In the 5.0 beta, the guides show up when moving a tab group, but not when resizing.
Kind of OCD, but it looks like a regression, so I figured I'd report it.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go into Panorama.
2. Create two small, empty tab groups. Name them A and B.
3. Position A above and left of the center of the screen.
4. Position B below and right of the center of the screen.
5. Resize A's lower border, dragging it down until it is below B's lower border.
2. Move A past B. Verify that A snaps into alignment with one of B's sides.
3. Resize A such that one of A's edges moves past B. The edge you're dragging does not snap into position.
Actual Results:
A's lower border smoothly follows the mouse cursor and lands where it is released.
Expected Results:
When A's lower border comes close to B's lower border, it should "snap" into alignment, and a dashed guiding line should appear.

Not sure how the extra 2. and 3. got in there. Disregard the extra steps.

This works for me (on Linux at least) - can anyone confirm on Mac? Chris, maybe you could provide a short screencast of the issue? Thanks!

The guides also appear when creating a new, empty tab group. However, no guides appear when resizing an existing tab group.
WFM on Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; rv:7.0a1) Gecko/20110531 Firefox/7.0a1
I have followed the video and the resize is stopping at the edge of the empty tab group.
Could you see if the issue occurs if using an empty testing profile? (Don't install any addons into it)

That's strange. I created an empty profile, and the bug's still present for me.
Reporter, does the issue still occurs on the latest Firefox? (Fx5)

Just tried it in Fx5 with an brand-new, empty profile. The bug is still present.

Still WFM on Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; rv:7.0a1) Gecko/20110629 Firefox/7.0a1
The alignment is made every time.
