From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; WinNT4.0; en-US; 0.7) Gecko/20010109 BuildID: 20001010901 When you go forward from a page and then back up to it again, mozilla automatically jumps to the position where you left the page, however, certain animated banners will cause the page to jump back to that point everytime the banner restarts. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: Set Edit/Preferences/Advanced/Cache to "Every time I view the page". Go to slashdot. Scroll down. Click a link near the bottom of the page. When the new page finished loading click the back button. When the front page is loaded again, and you have been automatically placed near the bottom of the page scroll up to the banner and wait. Actual Results: When the banner started again I was returned to the initial view I had of the page, near the bottom, every time the banner restarted. Expected Results: Nothing. Some banners, like the compaq banner, do not display this behaviour while other banners, like RackSpace and Altavista, do. I would guess it has to do with the Altavista and Rackspace banners continously reloading from the server, thus causing the completed loading code to be run multiple times.

Who should get this, imagelib, session history, or layout?
I think this is a dup of bug 60584.
I get this behaviour without banner ads too. It's as if the 'page position set' timer isn't being cleared. On a related note, sometimes the page will jump to a new position after it is loaded, even if it has been repositioned by the user, a new link has been clicked, etc. This is terrible from a UI standpoint. If I move the page, I expect it to stay where I moved it (other than the repositioning done by tables being filled, etc).
I'm not able to reproduce this issue in the March 20 build. Reporter, could you please check this with a new build ?

It seems to have been fixed. I can't reproduce with the March 23rd nightly build.
