Details
It would be nice if we could display gridlines in selectable units and divisions to help designers align containers. We would need UI to select unit types (en, em, px, pt, ...) and a field to enter number of units between major / minor gridlines and ticks.
For bonus points, being able to draw guides on the background would be choice.

alternatively, actual rulers would be nice to have in the content area.

I'm asking this because we now have the page rulers which should be enough for this use case.

We plan on being able to drag guides from the rulers, just like in photoshop. At least, we've discussed about that already and I think it could be pretty useful.

Currently my idea is implementing this feature not on rulers' highlighter; but on new rulers on Response Design View. But there are a lot of discussion around the RDV so we'll probably decide how to proceed the new year, during the visual tools meeting.
