On Basecamp, Sheppy shared the following point:
"Might also be interesting to offer a way to configure different ways to be notified of things like watched page changes, review requests, etc. Would be cool if you could specify whether you wanted email, RSS feed, or a tweet for each type of notification."

Important, but from what I understand fairly difficult to build. I'll mark this as P3 for now -- it would be great to have this, but there are more critical components to worry about for the moment.

What problems would this solve?
===============================
Different users prefer different mechanisms for being notified when articles change. In addition to a revision dashboard, which we already have, we need to have other ways for users to know that content has changed.
Who would use this?
===================
Site users that watch content changes; reviewers, editors, and development teams.
What would users see?
=====================
A preference panel somewhere that lets them choose what type of notifications of changes they want, as well as a way to, while looking at a page, indicate that they want to receive change notifications for that page (and optionally the page and all of its subpages).
What would users do? What would happen as a result?
===================================================
Once they've chosen a notification type and selected one or more pages for notifications, they'd get notifications through that mechanism.
The possible mechanisms include (but may not be limited to):
* Email (individual for each article/tree or one for all changes)
* RSS feed
* Twitter
In addition, the user should be able to specify a frequency of notifications: for each change, daily, weekly.
Is there anything else we should know?
======================================
Nope

We should take a larger look at how page watching works across the entire site. We can file new bugs depending on what we discover.
