Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:7.0a2) Gecko/20110727 Firefox/7.0a2 Build ID: 20110727154121 Steps to reproduce: I am using an Aurora nightly build PPA ( https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-mozilla-daily/+archive/firefox-aurora ) on Ubuntu 11.04 64-bit. I always have three App Tabs, and have had these app tabs since the Firefox 4 betas or whenever they were introduced. Actual results: After an update today (I haven't updated for a couple of days now), app tabs no longer function the same. If I am in an App Tab (example is Gmail) and go to another website (search bar also) the App Tab itself will be used as my active tab. This defeats the purpose of having "always available" tabs in Firefox. I also only have my Google Account active in my Gmail app tab. Since this update, I am signed into Google on new tabs and all other tabs as well. Expected results: Before, it would open a new tab and leave the app tab "sandboxed". Account logins should also only be active in the App Tabs. I have Firefox 5 on another PC (Fedora 15 x86_64) and the behaviour is as expected.
Just needed to correct myself here. I mentioned that the Search Bar will trigger this behaviour, but it works as expected. It is only when using the address bar that the app tab acts as my active tab. However, account loginss are still active on all tabs.
Can you reproduce this in safe mode? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe%20Mode
Same effect in safe mode.
How about the Mozilla's Aurora builds? http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/channel/
No difference at all.
I can't reproduce this. Tried on Windows and Linux. Searching from the search bar would always open a new tab, as well as external links in app tabs.
Try going to a different link in the Awesome Bar. Sorry about my terminology; first time filing a bug here :)
(In reply to comment #7) > Try going to a different link in the Awesome Bar. This isn't new, though.
