User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:5.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/5.0 Build ID: 20110615151330 Steps to reproduce: configuration is that Thunderbird should not leave mail at the server once loaded to Thunderbird. I ask thunderbird to take mail from server Actual results: which he is doing nicely, except if the mail has pictures attached, than he takes only one mail including the pictures, leaves the mail at the server and would not take a second mail with pictures. this happens only since the last 2 versions! Expected results: he should not leave the mail at the server and take the next mail
pop or imap ?
Could you also copy/paste here the content of the "Troubleshooting information" from the "?" (or "Help") menu in Thunderbird?

Hum, Wanadoo.fr pop server... Maybe related to this problem: http://www.geckozone.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=95538 ? What antivirus do you use? Could you turn it off and do another test?
Hummm I thought a lot about Wanadoo pop and Avast which I use. What I do not understand is that this is happening only since le last upgrades of Thunderbird! Why not before? I have not changed my systems (wanadoo or avast) I may try the test. About the geckozone forum you may find my name there, I did not understand 1/2 of that discussion as I do not see how to intervene with Avast. Hear from me after the test.
Hi, test done: Avast turned off, two mails with big pictures waiting; asked to load them to Thunderbird; Thunderbird takes the first, leaves it on the server (though been asked not to do so) and does not take the second mail. If I want that I have to go back to the server delete the first mail and ask Thunderbird again to fetch mail.
We'll need to see a pop log to investigate what's going on (see https://wiki.mozilla.org/MailNews:Logging)
You are not the first one to report this kind of problem, which exist with old release of Thunderbird too. So the log asked by Ludovic would really be interested to understand from where it come from.
I'll try to see to it to understand what exactly you want me to show you. May be it is of no importance; there is no difference if I ask to leave the mail at the server or not (I tried both)

Hi Ludovic, looks as if the pop log did not give any clue to the problem. Just to mention; it looks not to be the format (as .jpg), the last block I had was a 750KB .pdf . I wander where I could tell Thunderbird to not get tired with mail bigger than 750KB? and keep working properly as demanded though.

David Ideas ?
that log didn't have any message downloads, or deletes. Have you set Thunderbird to not download messages larger than a certain size?
I have not done anything like this, to do so I should know where, but I have no idea, may be you tell me? I would look into it and see what there is.
You would notice if you did - messages over a certain size would only have the first few lines downloaded, and there would be a link that you clicked on to download the rest of the message.
that is not the case, messages with big annex come fully but stop further action, (as delete message in server or/and take next message)
domzig, can you do another log?
