Steps: Turn off the preference settings for an imap account in accounts/settings for biff (check messages every {} minutes -unchecked) Restart mail send a message to yourself Check to see the message is sent (check the sent folder) click on some other folder other than inbox Go back and click on the inbox of that account again Actual Result:You will see the green arrow and the new message is retrieved Expected Result: Does not receive the new message untill get message button is clicked. Does not retrieve new message from the server when the pref is turned off.

In my steps to reproduce I for got to mention the two other preference that should be checked : save password in the password manager Check: Check mail at start up. uncheck: Check for messages every [n] minutes. send a message click on some other folder click back on the inbox The message is downloaded. Taking off the keywords. Bhuvan, Is this behavior okay. Because I am thinking if biff is turned off in the prefernce and when we click on the inbox we should not be downloading messages. I could be mistaken can you verify this for me.Thanks
