User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:8.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/8.0 Build ID: 20111104165243 Steps to reproduce: 1. Right click any Firefox button and chose "Customize..." 2. Check the "Use small Icons" checkbox Actual results: Icons are now small but the back button lacks padding to the left, which makes it too close the the border of the browser. Looks ugly.
Note that this issue is new since version 8.0

Summary: Back button lacks padding when using small icons → Firefox 8: Back button lacks padding when using small icons
This was changed in Bug 670565, hence intentional.
All the buttons lack padding. How is this intentional? It's a bug. Before you could move the buttons to remove their padding, now you can't get the padding period.
Yeah...I'm with all the buttons should have padding. I've been pretty confused by many changes in Firefox 8, but this is one of the most perplexing. We had pretty buttons, and now we have ugly buttons? Was that the plan???
This was changed in Bug 671553
So how do we get them to change it back??? There should be options here, not removal of options.
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=700972#c5 I've submitted a fix for this bug over in this other bug topic.

Small icons mode was removed in Firefox 29.
